This is a habit Kang also showed in his epic Ultron War, which saw the tyrant break time itself by constantly returning to the same point to fight the Mad Android in his most powerful form, creating a destructive time loop that only ended when Ultron surrendered to preserve the reality he intends to one day rule. Kang will never stop until he gets a satisfying outcome, because his powers give him unlimited chances at trying again. Not only does the Conqueror have access to all of time – which he confirms in this issue he has used to attack Kulan Gath simultaneously at different points in his life – but he’s pathologically incapable of giving up. Meanwhile, as the master of time, Kang’s eventual rule over all reality is seemingly inevitable, even when he's defeated. Thanos has tried many times to become a god, subsuming all reality to his control, but once he's defeated, he tends to move on to the next scheme.
